At the recent land handover ceremony after phase 1 of the technical survey and UXO clearance at Binh Dinh, KOICA Director Cho Han-Deog expressed KOICA commitment with the Vietnamese Government in post-war UXO consequence settlement, aiming toward a prosperous development for the community.

On the morning of October 20, in Binh Dinh, Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC), Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam (KOICA Vietnam), United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP Vietnam) and Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee jointly organized the 1st phase of decontaminated land handover ceremony for the province of Binh Dinh.

Contest is to build a rewarding playground, to help students learn and express themselves, to raise awareness to relatives and the community issues related to safety knowledge in regard to bombs and explosives left from the war.

Attending the seminar were Mr. Phan Thanh Liem, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh Department of Education and Training, Mr. Giang Cong Bau, Deputy General Director of VNMAC, Representative of UNDP and nearly 60 representatives who are representatives of Department of Education and Training Binh Dinh province, Quang Binh province, district education and training department and teachers of some primary and secondary schools in Binh Dinh.

On the afternoon of July 22, 2020, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense received Mr. Cho Han Deog, Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam.

Over the past years, Vietnam has strived to overcome effects of mines and Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) left after wars. Every year, thousands of hectares has been released from the danger of mines and ERW, thousands of facilities have been built, tens thousands of households have been resettled on "cleared" lands, but the ERW are still there, still very serious in a large area all over the country.

According to the new plan, the last 6 months of 2020 will continue to maintain the activities of General Management and improve coordination capacity in the new situation.
