Director of KOICA attended meeting to evaluate the results of 3 years of KVMAP project implementation

On September 9, 2020, Mr. Cho Han-Deog - Director of KOICA Vietnam, attended a meeting to evaluate the results of the Vietnam - Korea Mine Action Project (KVMAP) after 3 years of implementation and implementation.

The project " Vietnam - Korea cooperation project to overcome the consequences of bombs and mines after the war" is funded by the Korean Government through the Korea International Cooperation Agency KOICA under the coordination of the United Nations Development Program for the two provinces of Quang Binh and Binh Dinh with a budget of about 20 million USD, aimed at overcoming the consequences of bombs, mines and unexploded ordnance left over from the war. 
Attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Trung Hoa - General Director of VNMAC (in the middle), Mr. Cho Han-Deog Director of KOICA Vietnam (left), and Ms. Caitlin Wiesen - Chief Representative of UNDP in Vietnam. 

Before the meeting, representatives of VNMAC had a meeting to discuss some expected contents with representatives of KOICA and UNDP Vietnam. 
Representatives of VNMAC, KOICA, and UNDP Viet Nam highly appreciated the importance of the Vietnam - Korea Project to cooperate in overcoming the consequences of bombs and mines after the war. 

As of June 2020, the project's components have completed the set plan, in which, the remarkable result is that the project has surveyed more than 16,880ha, and the cleared area is over 5,194 ha. 

VNMAC, KOICA, and UNDP Viet Nam agreed to continue speeding up the implementation of project components in the coming time, while increasing the number of clearance teams in the two provinces to speed up clearance and handover process. De-contaminated land has been cleared for the local socio-economic development of Quang Binh and Binh Dinh. 

As of June 2020, the project's components have completed the set plan. 
The Vietnam - Korea cooperation project to overcome the consequences of bombs and mines after the war in Quang Binh and Binh Dinh provinces will be extended for another year and will end at the end of 2021.
