Specifically, the project aims to finish the application for an extension of the project implementation period by the end of 2021.

The KVMAP project received much attention from the Government as well as related agencies of the two countries Vietnam and South Korea. The project previously supported identification of polluted areas and removal of mines and explosives to ensure safety for people to access basic social facilities such as clinics, schools and farming land.

The project includes 5 components: Information management; Survey and clearance; Mine risk education; Support for victims and Improve capacity for forces performing post-war mine recovery tasks.

As of June 2020, the project's components have completed the set plan.
