The purpose of the contest is to build a rewarding playground, to help students learn and express themselves, to raise awareness to relatives and the community on issues related to safety knowledge in regard to bombs and explosives left from the war.

In addition to the achievements, the KVMAP project also faced many challenges in the implementation process.

On September 9, 2020, Mr. Cho Han-Deog - Director of KOICA Vietnam, attended a meeting to evaluate the results of the Vietnam - Korea Mine Action Project (KVMAP) after 3 years of implementation and implementation.

On the morning of 9/9/2020 in Hanoi, Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC), United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP), and Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam (KOICA) had a meeting to evaluate the results after 3 years of implementing the Vietnam - Korea cooperation project to overcome the consequences of bombs and mines after the Vietnam War.

Before officially ending his term in Vietnam, Mr. Kim Jinoh - Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam (KOICA) in Vietnam, recently had a visit and farewell at UNDP Vietnam headquarters. At the meeting, UNDP, KOICA officials and the Vietnam - South Korea Project members were present.

During a high-level visit on May 25 - 26, 2020 in Quang Binh, representatives of KOICA, UNDP, and VNMAC had cooperated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Binh province to visit, encourage and give gifts to mine / UXO survivors in Quang Son commune, Ba Don town, Quang Binh province.

As part of the KV-MAP project in Quang Binh province, on May 26, 2020, a senior delegation of representatives of UNDP, KOICA, VNMAC and local authorities visited his husband's farm. Truong Thanh Binh and Ms. Dinh Thi Hoai Thu in An Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. This is an area that has been contaminated with landmines and UXO.

In the context of the global COVID-19 epidemic, there are still complicated developments that greatly affect the lives of people, in which landmine / UXO victims are the most vulnerable and in need of assistance.

On the morning of May 26, 2020, Mr. Cho Han-Deog - KOICA Country Director of Vietnam, Ms. Caitlin Wiesen - UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam, and Mr. Giang Cong Bau - Deputy General Director of VNMAC had visited the landmines / UXO clearance area in Son Loc commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province.

More than 9,100 unexploded ordnance (UXO) survivors and their families in central Quảng Bình and south-central Bình Định provinces on Tuesday received packages of food, masks and hand sanitisers from international organisations.

On May 25, 2020, at Van Trach, Bo Trach and Quang Binh primary schools, Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam (KOICA), United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP), Bomb Action Center Landmine of Vietnam (VNMAC), representatives of Social Protection Department, MOLISA, officials from Quang Binh Province, and the Site Steering Committee organized a program to prevent and fight landmine / UXO (unexploded ordnance) incidents for local students. The event is held in an effort to sooth the pain of war and to raise awareness of preventing landmine / UXO accidents, within the framework of the Vietnam-South Korea Project on overcoming the consequences of mines and ERW after the war (KV- MAP).

As of September 2019, nearly 75,000 registrations of persons with disabilities (PwDs) were recorded in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces, among them more than 12 percent are unexploded ordnance (UXO) survivors.
