Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh highlighted Binh Dinh is one of the most heavily affected by UXO province of Vietnam. He expressed gratitude toward KOICA, Vietnam Mine Action Center and UNDP who have worked tirelessly to maintain a safe and peaceful life for the people in Binh Dinh.
Mr. Thanh especially remarked that the transferred land could help the evacuated population in reducing the damage of flooding and he highly praised the timely manner of the project.
Binh Dinh has over 4,000 affected victims of UXO, through the project, authorities have conducted surveys and provided aid to the people to improve life, especially providing livelihoods.
So far, KVMAP has conducted technical survey on over 16,880 hectares; cleared UXO on over 5,700 hectares. Through survey and clearance, has discovered, collected and disposed of unexploded ordnance of multiple categories in 2 provinces with safety as a first priority.
