In the second half of 2020, Binh Dinh will continue to implement many activities related to the KV-MAP project.

Specifically, the survey and mine clearance segment will continue to organize bomb and mine clearance with the remaining area of 828 ha. KVMAP will coordinate with the provincial and local authorities and the KV-MAP Project Management Board to supplement the area for technical survey and mine clearance (additional to the public news in 2020 and 2021).

In regard to assessing victim assistance, KVMAP will prepare a case management file for mine / UXO survivors and their families. The project will be setting up a hot line operation and supporting at the Binh Dinh Social Work and Social Protection Center. In details, KVMAP will be supporting livelihoods, rehabilitation for victims, intervention, helping mine / UXO survivors and families of mine / UXO survivors in the province, etc.

For the victim assistance component to assess, prepare a case management file for mine / UXO survivors and their families. Setting up the hot line operation and supporting the hotline operating equipment at the Binh Dinh Social Work and Social Protection Center. Supporting livelihoods, rehabilitation for victims, intervention, helping mine / UXO survivors and families of mine / UXO survivors in the province, etc.

The education and raising awareness department of the project has deployed communication activities to prevent mine / UXO incidents in schools.

KVMAP has also successfully organized preliminary seminars on integrating mine / UXO risk education contents into the teaching program at schools after one year of pilot implementation in Binh Dinh; organized teaching integrating mine risk education; organized mine / UXO extra-curricular activities for elementary and junior high school students; Organized mine / UXO risk education communication through school news and assemblies, and organizing television contests on mine / UXO prevention.

In addition, communication activities to prevent mine / UXO incidents have been carried out on the radio stations of 34 communes, wards and towns. The project also provided advanced training on mine / UXO accident prevention education for communal military commanders, the Youth Union and the Commune Women's Union (August 2020).

In addition, mine risk education sessions will be held for locals in 34 communes, wards and towns (from August 2020 to 12/2020).
