Binh Dinh: Director of KOICA Vietnam visited Quy Nhon Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital

Quy Nhon Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital is in charge of the rehabilitation program and provides prosthetic limbs for victims of unexploded ordnance (UXO) covered by KVMAP.

This is one of the five rehabilitation hospitals under the administration of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), and has been providing medical and rehabilitation supplies including prosthetic limbs for patients since 1976.
Currently, the hospital’s prosthetic factory has 8 workers. About 1,000 pieces of equipment are produced by the factory. The project’s mission visited the prosthetic factory and was introduced medical services for UXO victims.

Quy Nhon Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital is a major facility in meeting the prosthetic limbs demand in not just Binh Dinh but also the entire central area, including Da Lat and surrounding mountainous areas.

However, most of the production equipment and procedures are labor-intensive and in need of improvement. In the upcoming period, KOICA and partners will put all of the best measures into consideration to aid Binh Dinh’s UXO victims in recovering their normal life with the orthopedic equipment of the hospital.
